The Lodge of Hope and Saint Alphege No 4436 is delighted to announce that  RW Bro David F Macey Prov Grand Master will present a  Certificate to R W Bro Michael J Price CBE P Prov Grand Master celebrating 50 years in Freemasonry at the Kings Heath Masonic Temple on 23rd November 2017. RW Bro David Macey has also graciously agreed with his Provincial Team to dedicate a New Banner to the Lodge celebrating the  merger of the Lodge of Hope 4436 and  Saint Alphege Lodge 1431 in 2010 which he presided over.

It promises to be splendid occasion, places at the ceremony and the Festive Board thereafter will be in high demand, if you would like to receive a summons and make a  reservation please email the secretary of the Lodge on sec4436@gmail.com

Masonic Year 2016 – 17
In November we welcomed another new candidate to the Lodge, Zubair Chaudhary, proposed by his good friend Richard Holland and seconded by Alan Holland
In October RW Bro Michael Price CBE was installed in the Chair of King Soloman. Michael was delighted that W Bro Stephen Tranter Prov Junior Grand Warden was in attendance at his installation
Masonic Year 2015 – 16
The MW The Grand Master has been pleased to appoint to Grand Rank W Bro Peter Maurice Sorrill, Provincial Grand Mentor, appointed to the rank of Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies.

At our March Meeting the Worshipful Master Richard Taylor on behalf of all the Brethren congratulated Peter on his well deserved promotion

March saw another successfully initiation ceremony in our Lodge when our Worshipful Master Richard Taylor accompanied by Nigel C Bister a P Asst Prov Grand Master and his Wardens welcomed Ludlow Barrington Stewart to our Lodge.
The ceremony was a first for the Lodge in its distinguished history when the working tools in the first degree were presented by Richard Holland initiated in January 2016 and attending only his second, yes !!! that’s right, his second lodge meeting in a most proficient manner.
In February our Worshipful Master Richard Taylor was delighted to welcome another new Member to our Lodge Robert Browne pictured here with his proposer Richard Kennedy and seconder Ron Jones . It will be memorable night for Robert, It was an excellent ceremony which included our Past Provincial Grand Master R W Michael Price CBE invited into the chair to take part in the ceremony. Good company food and wine followed at the festive board.

Mervyn Murray, one of our Brethren, is embarking on a London to Brighton walk. It is about 100K and he hopes to do it in around 24 hours. His training involves walking from Solihull where he lives to Lodge in Saint Paul’s square Birmingham where we meet and of course when time permits. He also carries a 40lb ruck sack. Try it some time its heavy!!

It was a proud moment for Brother Alan Holland when his son Richard was initiated into the Lodge on Thursday 22nd January . It was a truly historic occasion being the first “Lewis” in the Lodge of Hope and Saint Alphege

Note: The definition of a Lewis is “The son of a Mason”

W. Bro Philip Hall Asst Prov Grand Master attended our Officers meeting in December to present the Retention and Attraction seminar. We had an excellent workshop which stimulated a healthy debate and will surely help the Brethren in planning the development of our Lodge
Congratulations to Simon Knight. Simon recently got married to Karen and has now moved to Holland.

He is a former member of the Lodge and also wanted to wish all the Brethren a Happy Christmas and Prosperous New Year

Congratulations to Richard Taylor who was installed in the chair of King Solomon at our October Meeting. Richard was delighted that R.W Bro David F Macey Provincial Grand Master was in attendance at his installation.

We enjoyed an excellent festive Board after the meeting.The New Master W Bro Richard Taylor was also delighted to welcome W Bro Stephen Haynes as a new joining member to the Lodge.

A Donation was made of £128.00 to the Air Ambulance.
